Exit and Post Exit Interviews

 

An Exit Interview is an interview conducted on a departing employee, for any reason, including resignation, termination, layoff, or retirement.  The goal of an Exit Interview is to capture valuable information on your organization before it walks out the door. The Exit Interview is the ultimate performance appraisal of your organization as an employer. The information gained is fundamental to diagnosing retention issues, improving employee selection and placement, and further developing leadership skills within your organization.

Exit Interviews are conducted either just before or immediately after the employee is departing your organization. They are done during this specific time, as the reasons in which they are departing are still fresh and their recollection of their employment details are at the forefront of their minds.  JUST Checking Resources will work with your organization to customize Exit Interviews based on position, type of leaving, and/or department to suite your needs. All Exit Interviews are conducted over the phone by our seasoned interviewers. Reporting on Exit Interviews is also part of the service we provide.

Complimentary to the Exit Interview, is the Post-Exit Interview. Done in the same fashion as the Exit Interview, the Post-Exit Interview is normally done approximately 6 months after the former employee has departed your organization. After some time has passed, the former employee tends to be more impartial with information regarding their reasons for leaving your organization since they are distanced from the emotion of leaving and secure in their new position.  Post-Exit Interviews are also a great recruitment tool, as they provide the opportunity to keep in touch with valuable talent.  Alternatively, it gives you as an employer, the opportunity to resolve any issues with disgruntled employees, and the ability to fix any similar issues with current and future employees.
