Employment Confirmations are a straightforward, but not to be overlooked, part of the background checking process as they are one of the most common areas of misrepresentation on a resume.
An Employment Confirmation is conducted with the candidate’s past employers, confirming details such as employment start and end, position, and if able to provide, the reason for leaving.
Confirmations are only done with Human Resources or payroll departments, and in some cases, executive management and/or owners. We also confirm contracts for self-employed persons with their past clients.
This allows the employer to confirm what was reported by the candidate on the resume and consent form in order to confirm that the candidate has represented themselves truly and honestly, and indeed have the correct experience for the job.
Employment Confirmations are normally conducted within 2-5 business days.
